Course Description
Basic Life Support (BLS) with the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is one of the first levels of care for patients with cardiac arrest.
Learning to perform Basic Life Support with the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (BLS/AED) is an interactive process that requires both knowledge and skills. Part or all of this knowledge and some skills can be obtained by self-instruction and online virtual learning.
The Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is widely spread all over the world. This course includes how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) if it is available. If there is no AED available, start BLS and wait for professional help.

Part 4: Passing Policy
Graded Course Activities
Visit the provided Quizzes and Exams link to access quizzes and exams.
Points | Description |
1 | Passing the exam |
2 | Skills demonstration |
100 | Total points from exam and skills demonstration |
The quizzes are completed after the lecture to evaluate the status of what has been learned. Inadequacies are discussed in a group work to fill in gaps.
Letter Grade Assignment
Passing the course depends on the final exam at the end of the course, in which a minimum score of 75% must be achieved. The demonstration of skills in scenarios plays the second major role. This includes all activities from assessing the situation to making contact and executing the skills, and a percentage of at least 75% is also required here to successfully complete the course.
Results | Percentage | |
